‘We Won't Allow Privatisation of LIC, It’s People's Asset'

“The Modi government forced the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) to invest in various firms in the name of disinvestment plans. Investing in loss-making firms lands the institution in trouble. Now, the government is planning to sell LIC itself. We, the employees, have safeguarded this feat for decades. But the economic policies of the incumbent government are fastening the process of privatisation. We will not allow this at any cost," said Siva Subramanian, Joint Secretary of South Zone Insurance Employees' Federation.
