Zohra Sehgal, The Legendary Actor Dies at 102

Newsclick pays tributes to the legendary actor and dancer Zohra Sehgal, who died in Delhi on July 10, 2014 after a cardiac arrest. She was 102. She was born on April 27, 1912.

Zohra Sehgal is a symbol of inspiration to women and girls. She followed her dreams challenging the oppressive social barriers. She worked with the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) and gave exceptional performances in films like Dharti Ke Laal and Neecha Nagar. Zohra Sehgal was awarded Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan and also received many other honours.
