​The Africa Cup of Nations ​(AFCON) ​conclude​d​ on February 6​ with Senegal beating Egypt in the final to be crowned champions​. The football pitch has seen a lot of exciting action but there have also been questions raised about the conduct of the tournament in Cameroon and the larger politics behind it. ​​New Frame's ​(South Africa) ​sports editor​,​ Njabulo Ngidi​,​ talks to ​Peoples Dispatch about some of these issues, including the fatal stampede at Olembe stadium. He also talks about the outrageous comments by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on the 'benefits' of a biennial World Cup for Africa.
