With FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for October-November, right when the Indian Super League (ISL) starts, and the broadcast dynamics with the Indian Premier League (IPL) could hamper the Indian domestic football season.

India’s senior men’s football team will, theoretically, play Qatar on October 8 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar. The next two FIFA World Cup qualifiers are to be played in Bangladesh on November 12 and at home against Afghanistan on November 17. India are pretty much out of the running for the next round of World Cup qualifiers, but the game is vital from the perspective of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
