India went into the break with a 1-0 lead after Thapa scored for India, almost against the run of play. Thailand had quite a bit of chances after the goal but failed to convert, with defender Adil Khan making a few timely challenges.

India registered a second successive win over Thailand. The side ends the campaign with one win from two games, a goal difference of -1 and a first win on the books for new coach Igor Stimac.

It was a disappointing tournament for the hosts, who lost to Vietnam as well.

Dearth of Goalscorers

88' Both sides seem to have the same issues. Thailand have been far better constructing play from the back but have lacked quality and decisiveness in the final third. India played a more defensively, and fared a little better in terms of clear chances on the counter as a result. Goal-getters are a problem on either end of the pitch.

Four Minutes Extra

89' Four minutes of added time in the match. Thailand are now attacking in waves, and missing narrowly.

Adil, the Star

90+1 Safe to say Adil Khan is the man of the match in this one. Picked up an assist in what might be the only goal of the game. And has been a rock.

Poor Goalkeeping

90+2’ Poor decision-making from the goalkeeper through the game. Amarinder recovered well to make that dramatic save off the Thai captain, but the fact is he should have either gathered the ball or stayed on his line. For me, India have been really lucky that Amarinder was not tested more. Tomislav Rogic has his work cut out.
