With 107 international caps and 42 goals, Bhaichung Bhutia is one of the most accomplished footballers to emerge from India. He led club and country to many famous victories in a two-decade long pro career. Bhutia was in the Newsclick studios to talk about the current mess engulfing club football (I-League vs ISL-Indian Super League tussle) in the country, a potential way forward, his current involvement with the sport, the Indian football team under new head coach Igor Stimac and the pressing need to create opportunities for girls and women to play the sport.
